Spica International recently enjoyed a successful few days exhibiting at IFSEC – Europe’s largest security event. The Spica team was co-exhibiting on the HID Global stand – the first time that HID Global brought its partners to present together at such an event. As a key partner for HID Global’s solutions, both embedded within Spica hardware and integrated into their solutions, it was a great opportunity to show the strength of their joint solutions. With a strong focus on mobile Access solutions and also HID Global’s core SEOS technology there was a theme of mobility, enhanced security and future-oriented solutions.
The showpiece, was the international launch of Spica’s new Zone Touch smart, terminal for time&attendance registration and access control. With an intuitive user interface based around a high-definition smartphone-like display and operation, the terminal features the latest multiclass technology, meaning all the main smartcards and many legacy technologies are supported. It also features NFC and Bluetooth BLE for the latest smartphone-based credentials. In addition, it has many features built-in to prepare it for the future… a camera, cloud operation, and a platform designed to accommodate tomorrow’s technology quickly and easily.
Driving this new terminal, and the rest of the products on show, was Time&Space – Spica’s comprehensive solution for time recording and access control. The platform offers the possibility of integration with multiple systems, including CCTV/PSIM, HR, ERP and BMS systems.
Alongside the Zone Touch, was the innovative Zone Access platform, a flexible-architecture networked controller system which enables high scalability and modularity in almost any access control application.
With the majority of visitors coming from Europe, Middle East and Africa, there was an evident trend and demand for mobile access control, both in terms of the use of a smartphone as an access credential as well as the use of mobile platforms for different functionality and activities related to access control. Spica’s solutions cover both. There was also clear, increasing interest around access control and security in the Cloud – Spica and Time&Space are already fully-prepared for this next step!
Interest in the solutions exhibited was high, and many discussions were opened for partnership and collaboration with Spica. Spica was proud to exhibit, side-by-side with one of the industry’s most respected names, while Spica’s innovative solutions and future vision also brought additional value to an interesting and diverse stand.
